Wallbox

Wallbox

« Back to Glossary Index

A wallbox is a charging system installed on the wall of a building or external structure, designed to offer a safe and efficient charging solution for electric vehicles.
The wallbox provides a connection point between the power grid and the vehicle, transforming an ordinary power outlet into a charging point, allowing energy to be transferred from the power source to the vehicle’s battery, and can calibrate the power of the domestic electrical system to that of the vehicle to be recharged. Usually, it is equipped with a charging cable that can be connected to the electric vehicle via a plug or proper connector.
The wallbox offers the advantage of being able to recharge at home through a standard power outlet, as well as offering greater safety and security, since it is designed to comply with electrical safety standards and regulations.
