Electric vehicles

« Back to Glossary Index

Electric vehicles (EVs) use electricity for propulsion, offering environmental benefits and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Unlike conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, which burn fuel to generate power, EVs are powered by batteries or other electrical energy storage devices.
These vehicles use electric engines to convert electrical energy into mechanical movement and can be powered by rechargeable batteries or fuel cells that produce electricity through a chemical reaction.
Today, rechargeable battery power is booming, thanks to the increase in range, cost reduction of batteries and recharging systems, and the increasing popularity and convenience of recharging stations, whether stationary or mobile.
